PROTEST CABLE CALL 2012 PROMISES TO BE BIGGEST AND BEST YET
Protest has announced dates and details for Protest Cable Call 2012 – now in its third year and tipped to be the best event yet.
Cable Call has grown into a hugely successful wakeboarding and wakeskating world series event that involves the best riders from across the globe. And the competitions aren’t the only thing to have grown – the party has evolved into a mini music festival and the shopping street is bigger than ever with partners queuing up to be involved.
Event organizer, Jeroen Beersmans, said: “In the first year we were just one event of the WWA Worldseries – now we are one of the four biggest wake events in the world. This year we will be showcasing some of the best in extreme sports as well as providing a great summer vibe with the Feelgood Festival. There will be something for everyone – this really will be a unique experience for every visitor.”
The Feelgood Festival has appearances from Handsome Poets, DJ Okkie, Offshore, The Arc, Rock and Roll Prophets and special guest act, Celluloid Gurus.
The WWA world series is a tour of six events over the world which lead to the winners being crowned World Champions. Wakeboarding and wakeskating are rapidly growing sports that use snowboarding and surfing techniques on the water.
During Protest Cable Call the riders will use a cableway to perform their tricks. The riders are pulled around the lake at 30km/hr using obstacles or the cable tension to launch four and five meters high jumps. It’s a sport for the fearless!
This year’s event will take place at Down Under, Nieuwegein (NL) for the second year running on August 25th and 26th. Entry is free except for the music festival on Saturday evening – tickets for that cost € 10 in pre-sale and €12.50 on the door.
