Harf Wins in Twin Cities

Shoreview, MN –  Danny Harf beat Rusty Malinoski in the finals of the MasterCraft Pro Wakeboard Tour today in Shoreview, MN to win his first tour stop of the year. Harf, seeded #3 in the contest, beat the #1 seed Andrew Adkison in semis before knocking off Malinoski.

Harf, from Orlando, Florida, is a perennial winner on the pro circuit. Last year, he won stops in Portland and Ft. Worth. Despite the loss, Adkison remains the leader on the season points chase for the Indmar Performance Award.

Local rider Keith Lidberg's surprise run at a title in his hometown took him all the way to the round of 8. Lidberg, a Twin City native and Coon Rapids High graduate, pulled off another upset today beating #10 seeded Derek Grasman before falling to eventual champion Harf. Lidberg, a 15th seed had upset # 2 seeded Tino Santori yesterday.

Lidberg's success in Shoreview was by far the best performance ever for the young rider at a Pro Tour stop. He has been on the tour since 2003, but his success here in his own "home" waters should boost his confidence for future contests.

Turning to the future pros, Jimmy Lariche won the Rip It JX Series title today with a score of 69.11.  He beat fellow junior riders Adam Errington and Danny Thollander for the win. The Rip It JX Series is a series within the tour for amateur riders 18 and under.

The next stop on the Pro Tour is Kelowna, British Colombia, Canada, July 7-9. The only tour stop outside the U.S. will take place at Waterfront Park in Kelowna.

MasterCraft is the exclusive towboat for the Pro Tour as it has been since the Tour's wakeboarding events began in 1992. Indmar Marine Engines provides the power for MasterCraft's line of competition towboats, the X Series.
