With a mission to improve and enhance the activity of wakesurfing on all levels, the second-annual SURF GATE Firsthand event took place April 28-30 in Pismo Beach, California with a group of 45 ambassadors including industry experts, media members, pro riders and representatives of Malibu Boats.
Malibu’s marketing team, athletes, sales reps and product development staff were on hand to collaborate, network and return with valuable feedback on wakesurfing with SURF GATE®, the innovation founded in 2012 that has changed wakesurfing forever.
Spring 2 Summer started out being a local contest, hosted by WakeFactory, for the North Alabama region. 7 years later it’s now one of the largest wakeboard tournaments in the Southeast drawing riders in from as far as North Dakota and Canada. With sessions behind the Malibu WAKESETTER’s, wake park riding, trampoline gym madness, to dry slope snowboarding, the entertainment ran all day and night. The finals of the first stop of the Monster Energy Wake Park Triple Crown at Cajun X Cables in Lafayette are complete and The King of the Cable, Tom Fooshee still stands at the top of the podium … but not in Pro Men’s Cable … in Pro Men’s Features. In Pro Men’s Cable Austrian ripper James Windsor reminded everyone why he is a WWA Wake Park World Champion and took first place in the combination rails and cable maneuver focused division.
