The WWA World Wakeboard Championships kicked off on Thursday, Oct. 13 th at Marshall’s Lakes in Maroochydore, Queensland with beautiful weather and over 50 pulls.

Hitting the water today were riders aged from 7 to 40(ish), all hoping to bring a World Championship belt to Australia, with the preliminaries to 6 such crowns initiated today.

The waters of Marshall’s Lakes are proving to be world class location for this event, perfectly protected from any winds and providing glass conditions for the Malibu tow boat to perform flawlessly. Malibu Boats have brought this event outside the USA for the first time in history and are excited about the atmosphere delivered by Queensland.

“Malibu Boats is a globally-recognized brand and that is clear to see with Worlds being held in Australia this year,” said Malibu’s Marketing Manager Lani Farmer. Malibu is the preferred towboat of the WWA Worlds and is used by athletes such as Chad Sharpe, Dallas Friday, and Jeff Weatherall.
