WWA Initiates Boating Safety Course for All Event Drivers

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

February 20, 2008

Effective this year, all boat drivers in WWA sanctioned events will be required to pass an approved boating safety course. To help with the cost of obtaining a boating safety certificate iDrive Boats, a NASBLA (National Association of Boating Law Administrators) approved safety course, will offer a 30% discount off the internet course to all active WWA members. This will provide basic boating knowledge and accreditation set forth by the guidelines that NASBLA and the USCG (United States Coast Guard) have created.  By going to www.idriveboats.com and clicking on SIGN UP NOW you are able to choose your state and create a user account.  iDrive Boats offers boat specific certifications, therefore event boat drivers should select “Inboard Ski/Wakeboard” under the Boat Type drop down menu.  At the payment screen in the coupon code simply enter WWAIDB8 to apply the instant discount.  Once the course is studied and successfully passed an iDrive Boats certificate will be automatically emailed to each student.

Boating safety will always be a very important part of wake sports, promoting and exercising safe boating practices is a tremendous benefit to everyone involved in the industry.  This initiative comes during a time when numerous states are making education mandatory for boat drivers of all ages and is a trend that will continue to grow in the future.

Safety is always a first priority at the World Wakeboard Association. By updating regulations and standards, it enables the organizers of wake sport events to be on the forefront of any changes and maintain the highest standard of safety in the boating world.
