From Lake Alfred, FL (March 23, 2011)–Valle de Bravo, Mexico has just witnessed the best wakeboarding in the world from riders like Harley Clifford (AU), Rusty Malinoski (CA), and Adam Errington (US). Club Izar was the hosting venue for the 1st stop of the WWA Wakeboard World Series Presented by Revista Ragga. And the riders enjoyed their stay at the club; with golf, mountain biking, billiards, and wakeboarding, where else would these top caliber athletes want to be?

After a practice round on Friday, Saturday’s Quarter Final rounds went down as a seeding round to determine the running order for Sunday’s Semi Final heats. Each rider was boosting off of the Mastercraft Parks Edition X-Star wake, including 14 year old Paulie Koch (US). Semi finals, finals, and a double-up contest were to take place on Sunday, and with Jimmy Trask at the helm, each rider knew they would have a quality pull through the course. Some impressive wakeboarding from the local Mexican riders caught the eyes of several pro riders with big moves like Whirly Birds and Raleys.

After the amateur division was finished, it was the pro division’s turn to take advantage of the mild weather, and a Parks Edition X-Star. Even-though the conditions were challenging for the riders, some phenomenal runs were put together, and making it through to finals were Harley Clifford, Rusty Malinoski, Adam Errington, Trevor Hansen, Nick Jones, and Austin Hair. In the end it was Australian rider Harley Clifford that edged out Canadian rider Rusty Malinoski, and USA rider Adam Errington for the victory. Trevor Hansen (US) dominated the double-up contest with a huge and smooth Heelside Backroll to Blind.

Official rankings are out for the 2011 WWA Wakeboard World Series with Harley Clifford in the lead. Click Here for 2011 WWA Wakeboard World Series Rankings.

From Lake Alfred, FL

The 2010 WWA Wake Park World Series and the 2010 WWA Wakeboard World Series completed their ten total stops last weekend at Camsur Watersports Complex, Philippines (CWC). Each World Series traveled to four separate countries, then were able to come together for the unique final stop at the CWC Ultimate Wake Championships.

The 2010 WWA Wake Park World Series was set in destinations such as Germany, Netherlands, USA, Turkey, and Philippines. Each country had the fortunate experience to witness the best Wake Park riders in the world, such as Tom Fooshee, Dominik Guehrs, and Lior Sofer, battle it out for the title.

The 2010 Overall Wake Park Champ, Tom Fooshee speaks about the Series, “The 2010 WWA Wake Park World Series was my favorite Wake Park Series yet. It covered a larger span of the globe than any other Wake Park World Series, and we got to ride at the best parks in the World.”

While the 2010 WWA Wakeboard World Series visited Brazil, Canada, Abu Dhabi, USA, and Philippines, the series retained its fair amount of heated point battles as well. CWB teammates, Trevor Hansen and Andrew Adkison, battled all year for their bragging rights.

Hansen’s thoughts on the year: “I am super pumped to end up in second overall for the World Series. There was some awesome riding that went down throughout the different events. Can’t wait for next year!”

From Lake Alfred, FL

Camsur Watersports Complex was proud to host the final stop of the 2010 WWA Wakeboard World Series January 20-23. The exotic five stop series included Brazil, Canada, Abu Dhabi, USA, and Philippines. Each stop combined the top wakeboarders from around the world in their attempt to capture the 2010 WWA Wakeboard World Series Overall Title.

Even-though defending champion Phil Soven of the USA captured his forth Wakeboard World Series Title, everyone had their eyes set on the points race between CWB teammates Trevor Hansen of the USA and Andrew Adkison of the USA. Hansen started the Series off with three finishes ahead of Adkison, but the light shined on Adkison in Canada as Hansen’s lead was narrowed by Adkison’s near podium finish. However, Hansen was quick to retaliate at the 2010 WWA Rockstar Worlds with a 3rd place finish earning a total of 37 more points than Adkison. Both riders had a strong finish at the final stop of the World Series, but in the end it was Hansen that claimed his highest finish in a WWA Wakeboard World Series claiming 2nd place just behind Soven. Austin Hair and Danny Thollander round out the top five.

Hansen’s thoughts on the year: “I am super pumped to end up in second overall for the World Series. There was some awesome riding that went down throughout the different events. Can’t wait for next year!”

Adkison states: “Knowing the level of the International field that competed this year, earning a top 3 overall finish is something I’m very excited about.”

Keep an eye out for next year’s WWA Wakeboard World Series to be released soon. The riders are already gearing up for an exciting 2011 season.
