On April 7-10 Texas Ski Ranch will be hosting the Chorpus Christi Challenge as part of the Texas International Boat Show. This unique wakeboard event will showcase four of the top wakeboarders in the world as they compete for the title at the third annual event. Unlike most events TSR hosts, the Corpus Christi Pro will not be pulled by a MasterCraft X-Star or a Rixen Cable system. Because the event is held in the Corpus Christi Marina we will be using Sea Doo watercraft to pull the wakeboarders over ramps made specifically for this event. The setting proved to be challenging but also very rewarding due to the close proximity to the crowd that can line up on all sides of the course.

In the previous two events Tom Fooshee and Gabe Lucas finished first and second respectively. This year TSR will add a little twist to the event that will showcase just four riders broken into two teams. Cable Riders vs. Boat Riders behind a PWC. While all four of these riders kill it behind all pulling devices, we will pit Tom Fooshee and Cody Johnson vs. Gabe Lucas and Joey Bradley. By leveling the playing field, we are expecting a really fun event that pits these good friends against each other. The 2011 event will be sanctioned by the World Wakeboard Association (WWA)

The Texas International Boat Show, presented by American Bank, will take place from April 7^th-10th, 2011, at the Corpus Christi Downtown Marina. The World Wakeboard Association announces the schedule for the 2011 Monster Energy WWA Wake Park Triple Crown Presented by Alliance Wakeboard Magazine. The growth and focus on cable wakeboarding is bringing more sponsors, more athletes, new parks and bigger prize money to the Wake Park Triple Crown for 2011. This summer the tour travels to three new locations including Adrenaline Adventures in Winnipeg, Manitoba, McCormick’s Cable Park in Tampa, Florida and Hydrous-Allen Wake Park in Allen, Texas. Each state-of-the-art wake park is gearing up for this one-of-a-kind wake park contest series.

In addition to North America’s most competitive cable series, the 2011 Monster Energy WWA Wake Park Triple Crown will include more prize money and more focus allotted to the obstacles division. Now riders like Kevin Henshaw, Gabe Lucas, Shane Bonifay, Raphael Derome, Shawn Watson, JD Webb and all of the athletes who are focused predominantly on the obstacles will have a legitimate obstacle oriented Wake Park Triple Crown Series with their own overall championship.

The brand new six tower wake park in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada named Adrenaline Adventures will be pulling double duty as it hosts the first stop of the 2011 Monster Energy WWA Triple Crown Presented by Alliance Wakeboard Magazine and the 2011 WWA Wake Park World Series. This snow park in the winter and wake park in the summer plays a true four season roll in the community.

McCormick’s Cable Park in Tampa, Florida will host the second stop of the 2011 Monster Energy WWA Wake Park Triple Crown July 23-24. This will be the first major contest that McCormick’s Cable Park will host and the staff is ready to show the nation what their park is all about.

Only time will tell if history will repeat itself at the final stop of the 2011 Monster Energy WWA Wake Park Triple Crown and the 2011 WWA Wake Park National Championships as riders battle it out for the title in Allen, Texas at Hydrous-Allen Wake Park. This exciting new wake park, located adjacent to Allen High School will bring the masses out to see what will likely be a dramatic finale of the 2011 Monster Energy WWA Wake Park Triple Crown.

Last year, the 2010 Monster Energy WWA Wake Park Triple Crown was largely dominated by wake park sensation, Tom Fooshee. Though in the final round at the WWA Wake Park National Championships held in Cincinnati, Lior Sofer of Israel, managed to hand Tom Fooshee his first loss in years. Lior finished the series second overall behind Fooshee, followed closely by Keith Lidberg and an ever-growing global crew of athletes. Make sure to keep a close eye on the 2011 Monster Energy WWA Wake Park Triple Crown this year as riders attempt to lay down the most progressive lines to claim the title. The 2010 WWA Wake Park World Series and the 2010 WWA Wakeboard World Series completed their ten total stops last weekend at Camsur Watersports Complex, Philippines (CWC). Each World Series traveled to four separate countries, then were able to come together for the unique final stop at the CWC Ultimate Wake Championships.

The 2010 WWA Wake Park World Series was set in destinations such as Germany, Netherlands, USA, Turkey, and Philippines. Each country had the fortunate experience to witness the best Wake Park riders in the world, such as Tom Fooshee, Dominik Guehrs, and Lior Sofer, battle it out for the title.

The 2010 Overall Wake Park Champ, Tom Fooshee speaks about the Series, “The 2010 WWA Wake Park World Series was my favorite Wake Park Series yet. It covered a larger span of the globe than any other Wake Park World Series, and we got to ride at the best parks in the World.”

While the 2010 WWA Wakeboard World Series visited Brazil, Canada, Abu Dhabi, USA, and Philippines, the series retained its fair amount of heated point battles as well. CWB teammates, Trevor Hansen and Andrew Adkison, battled all year for their bragging rights.

Hansen’s thoughts on the year: “I am super pumped to end up in second overall for the World Series. There was some awesome riding that went down throughout the different events. Can’t wait for next year!”

The 2010 WWA Wake Park World Series finished its five stop Wakeboard contest series last weekend. Each of the five hosting countries, which included: Germany, Netherlands, USA, Turkey, and Philippines, were fortunate to experience the best Wake Park riders in the world.

Dominik Guehrs of Germany and Lior Sofer of Israel placed second and third, respectively; however, it was USA native Tom Fooshee that claimed his third consecutive WWA Wake Park World Series Title. Nick Davies of the United Kingdom, and Freddie Von Osten of Germany round out the top five.

An excited Fooshee states: “The 2010 WWA Wake Park World Series was my favorite Wake Park Series yet. It covered a larger span of the globe than any other Wake Park World Series, and we got to ride at the best parks in the World.”

Fooshee accomplished standing on the podium at all five stops. And was able to complete the series with not one, not two, but three 1st place finishes, one second, and one third.

“Winning my third straight title has been an incredible experience. I’ve been able to travel and compete, and the WWA has been there for us (the riders) since the beginning.” says Fooshee

The question now is can Fooshee continue his dominance in 2011 and remain the only WWA Wake Park World Series Overall Champion? Only time can tell.
