Orlando, FL (December 20, 2019) – The World Wake Association (WWA) and Nautique Boat Company are proud to announce the return of the Nautique Wake Series for 2020, with four action-packed WWA Wakeboard World Series (WBWS) event stops. Exclusively towed behind the 7X Wakeboard Boat of the Year, the Super Air Nautique G23, this series delivers the highest level of wakeboarding competition providing a career-defining platform for athletes to come to showcase progression and define themselves as the sport’s elite. A dedication to rider development and a family-friendly environment has made the Nautique Wake Series home to an international field of athletes competing in all WWA professional and amateur divisions, continuing a tradition that always puts riders first.

“The Nautique Wake Series is the pinnacle of wake events and I personally find the series of events are the only ones I go to where I can count on the conditions being close to perfect. The wake behind the G23 is always the biggest wake in the industry, paired with Nautique’s selection of the best locations brings together the best riding and most entertaining finals,” commented 2019 Nautique Wake Series Overall Champion Cory Teunissen. “A personal favorite for me is the last event of the year, the Nautique WWA Wakeboard World Championships. As an athlete you’ve had a full year of battles and have committed yourself to something that is bigger than you and everything comes to an end at this final stop. It’s super exciting to be a part of and I’m super keen to get in to a route again for 2020. Let’s get it!!”

The 2020 Nautique Wake Series will officially kick off on the largest international stage in watersports with stop one at the Nautique Moomba Masters in Melbourne, Australia. Stop two will bring a prestigious selection of riders the opportunity to compete at the legendary Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, GA for the 61stNautique Masters Waterski & Wakeboard Tournament, presented by GM Marine Engine Technology. Riders will have the opportunity to earn a Masters invitation at the 3rdannual Nautique Masters Wakeboard LCQ held in the heart of wakeboarding in Orlando, Florida.

The third stop of the Nautique Wake Series lands in Waco, Texas at the Nautique WWA Wakeboard National Championships alongside the Nautique WWA Wake Park National Championships and Nautique USA National Wakesurf Championships for the ultimate wake throwdown of the new decade. The fourth and final stop will take us to the tropical paradise of Playa del Carmen, Mexico for the Nautique WWA Wakeboard World Championships. Reeling off the momentum felt in 2019 the WWA Wakeboard World Championships will once again join the Nautique WWA Wake Park World Championships for an epic season finale.

Pro Men, Pro Women and Jr. Pro Men athletes compete throughout the season with over $30,000 (USD) in additional prize money on the line for the overall Nautique Wake Series title. The entire season comes down to the final stop where the WWA World Champions, Nautique Wake Series Overall Champions and WWA Wakeboard World Series Overall Champions are crowned.

“The Nautique Wake Series brings together wakeboarders of all ages and skill levels to battle for titles while combining fun and progressing the sport,” said Nautique President Greg Meloon. “With an exciting series of events set for the 2020 season, I can’t wait to see what all of the riders have up their sleeves and look forward to seeing them perform their best behind the award-winning G23.”

Playa del Carmen, Mexico (October 20, 2019) – The top professional wakeboard and wake park athletes came to the water on Saturday along with remaining Amateur semifinal and final rounds at the 2019 Nautique WWA Wakeboard and Wake Park World Championships presented by Rockstar Energy. Mayan Water Complex provided the greatest conditions imaginable, paired with the tropical backdrop as the world’s best riders amazed the crowd during every heat. The world-class Super Air Nautique G23 provided riders the ability to perform at the top of their game in every division. After the day’s competition riders and families made their way back to the Iberostar Paraiso Lindo where they were greeted with an authentic Mayan dancers performance before stepping back in time during the 30 Years of Wake Anniversary celebration, honoring the two individuals who spurred the movement for organized wakeboarding back in 1989. The global achievements of this year’s athletes were then celebrated during the Amateur Awards banquet, awarding several first time World titles.

Monroe, WA (‪July 28, 2019) – Every event behind 6X Wakeboard Boat of the Year, the Super Air Nautique G23 brings out the very best in wakeboarding’s top athletes across all divisions. The 2019 Nautique WWA Wakeboard National Championships presented by Rockstar Energy showcased an inspiring spectacle of athletic ability with wake’s greatest putting down peak performances to lay claim to the 2019 National Title.

“I’d like to congratulate all of the riders that took home National titles this weekend behind the award-winning G23,” said Nautique President Greg Meloon. “The fans here in Washington witnessed some incredible performances, as the Nationals brought out the best from the top pro and amateur wakeboarders once again.”

Setting the pace for the entire day, the Pro Wakeskate division revved things up with Reed Hansen (USA) stomping out a switch H/S F/S 360 and a T/S B/S 180 to take the win with a score of 87.00. James Balzer (CDN) landed a T/S F/S indy <g class="gr_ gr_10 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_disable_anim_appear ContextualSpelling" id="10" data-gr-id="10">shuv</g> to grab the second spot scoring 80.67, followed by Brian Grubb (USA) in third with a score of 68.67.

Fynn Bullock-Womble (USA) rose to the top of the Jr. Pro Men division this season, sealing it off with his very first National title with a final score of 94.33. Womble had a huge run behind the Super Air Nautique G23 today opening his run with a stylish <g class="gr_ gr_12 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_disable_anim_appear ContextualSpelling" id="12" data-gr-id="12">stalefish</g> tantrum to blind and going on to land a roast beef roll to blind and an indy bat wing to blind, leaving no doubt in anyone’s mind he just claimed the National title. Josh Swift (AUS) gave it everything he had putting down another ridiculous performance with a whirly 540 and a wrapped H/S B/S 540 to score 73.00. Kevin Duffy (USA) placed third throwing a switch nose grab crow mobe for a final score of 68.33.

Nautique Team athlete Zahra Kell (AUS) stole the show of the Pro Women’s division, taking her first National title scoring 92.00 points. She had an incredible run throwing down a dum dum and tantrum to <g class="gr_ gr_9 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_disable_anim_appear Grammar only-ins replaceWithoutSep" id="9" data-gr-id="9">blind</g>. Meagan Ethell (USA) joined the podium in second place throwing a big T/S nose grab F/S 540 and a roll to blind for a score of 88.33, followed by Jamie Lopina in third with a final score of 83.00.

“I’m so excited to win my very first National title and it is just so cool to be on the podium with all of the incredible girls of our sport.
MONROE, WA (July 24, 2018)– Headed to the Pacific Northwest, this week kicks off one of the most important Wakeboard World Series (WBWS) events […]

MONROE, WA (July 24, 2018)– Headed to the Pacific Northwest, this week kicks off one of the most important Wakeboard World Series (WBWS) events of the season with the 2018 Nautique WWA Wakeboard National Championships presented by Rockstar Energy. Pulled by the 5x Wakeboard and 4x Wakesurf boat of the year the Super Air Nautique G23, this event could be a turning point in the WWA Wakeboard World Series rankings. A look on social media proves the progressive movement continues to gain speed post Stop #4 in Knoxville, TN with the top ten riders in both divisions hitting new tricks and not being afraid to show it.

As we sit today, there is a 60-point spread among the top four ranked riders on the Men’s WWA Wakeboard World Series with only one remaining event after the Nautique WWA Wakeboard National Championships, WBWS Stop #5. With the final stop, the 2018 Nautique WWA Wakeboard World Championships just over thirty days away, the riders know there is now no place for playing it safe.

A shuffling in the rankings took place in Knoxville, TN, as Tony Iacconi moved up one spot into 4thranked position after his third place podium finish, solidifying 295 points on the WBWS overall rankings. The WBWS 3rdranked rider, Cory Teunissen put on a huge show so far this season putting up some massive double cab rolls, riding on the heels of Nic Rapa in second place.

Nic Rapa came away with his second Factory Pro title gaining valuable ground in the rankings, however, his final score wasn’t quite enough to take thetop spot on the leaderboard. Sitting in the top spot on the WBWS rankings, Harley Clifford remains focused as he heads to the WWA Wakeboard National Championships, an event he has claimed multiple Nationals Titles. Despite his second place finish at the Factory Pro and with Rapa only 20 points behind Clifford on the rankings, the pressure remains to perform to his full potential.

The Women have been absolutely charging it this season and the shuffling of the overall rankings in Knoxville can speak to it. Jamie Lopina torched the fire at the Factory Pro, throwing down the only crowmobe seen in the Women’s final. This performance moved Lopina up two spots on the leaderboard heading to Washington with a solid 5thspot on the WBWS rankings. Dallas Friday, known for her clean tricks and signature style sits 4thon the rankings, just 30 points short of Zahra Kell holding down the 3rdranked spot.

Going into the Factory Pro a few weeks back, Meagan Ethell was a mere 5 points behind Nicola Butler with the two going head to head, proving to the fans that women do in fact run the world. Ethell’s win sent her into 1stplace on the rankings as the reigning WWA Wakeboard National Champion looks toward another National Title this week.

The ranking’s shakeups prove that with two stops to go, the race for the Title is far from over, setting the stage for a showdown at Lake Tye Park at the 2018 Nautique WWA Wakeboard National Championships. Stay tuned all week long for updates from the heartbeat of the sport with athletes from around the globe focused on driving progression.

ORLANDO (April 21, 2016) – Today, the Nautique Wake Open presented by Rockstar Energy hosted the first of four days scheduled for this weekend’s event at the world-famous Orlando Watersports Complex (OWC). This weekend the sport’s brightest stars are set to kick off the opening round of the Wakeboarding World Series (WBWS) and second stop of the Nautique Wake Series, the only series that puts riders first.

Pro Men’s qualifying is underway, featuring elite Nautique athletes, such as Mike Dowdy, Bob Soven, and JD Webb to name a few. This season is arguably the deepest field in the history of the sport, which is destined to provide intense action beginning in qualifying and carrying on into the finals.

“It’s always good to come out and win the first heat of the season,” said Team Nautique Rider Bob Soven (USA). “The conditions were pretty challenging today with the wind blowing right down the center of the course at 15+ mph, but the G23’s wake stayed clean and allowed everyone to still put their best tricks forward.”

The Pro Women’s division started the day off with their quarterfinals, ultimately leading the way were Nicola Butler (USA) and Larisa Morales (MEX). Thanks to the innovative technology on the Super Air Nautique G23, the women continue their progression towards raising the bar yet again for this weekend’s finals showdown.

“Today was an exciting first day at the Nautique Wake Open with a full lineup of Pro Women competing,” said Team Nautique Rider Meagan Ethell (USA). “The conditions were a little rough, but I was able to adjust and put in a consistent run to advance to the semifinals. My plan this weekend is to have fun, lay down a solid run and earn a spot in the finals.”

Guenther Oka (USA) put in the best run of the day in the Jr. Pro Men’s quarterfinals with a 79.33, narrowly edging out James Loisel’s 78.67 (USA). The Master’s semifinals watched Joel Schrader (USA) go big to grab the upper hand heading into the finals.

The second day of the Nautique Wake Open is set to kick off at 10AM on Friday, April 22, which will include Pro Wakeskate and Amateur and Junior Qualifying.

Three Events for Riders to Showcase Their Skills on World Stage

LAKE ALFRED, Fla. (March 23, 2016) – The World Wakeboard Association (WWA) announced today the schedule for the 2016 Malibu Evolution Pro Series. Three events are set to take place in 2016, each being held in a unique location that provides riders the opportunity to display their talents globally. Malibu’s all-new, class-leading M235 will be one of the key tools in helping world-class athletes take the next step toward greatness in the water.

Malibu CEO Jack Springer spoke briefly about the companies’ commitment to raising the bar on a global level in water across the world. “As the Malibu Evolution Series enters its second year, Malibu is excited to bring our sport and product to unique locations around the world,” said Springer. “Partnering last year with the WWA, we had a common goal to create events that were fitting for the worldwide towboat leader, and we’ve achieved that. I personally look forward to seeing the world’s best athletes prove themselves behind the all-new Malibu M235 this summer; the most luxurious and preeminent boat in the industry.”

“It’s always great to have partners that are in tune with our vision and share the same passion that we do in helping elevate the sport to the next level,” said Shannon Starling, WWA President. “Coming off of a successful first year for the Evolution Pro Series in 2015, the WWA and Malibu Boats are really looking to setting a new standard for Pro Wakeboard events this season, which will consist of unreal locations for the sport and brand.”

The Malibu Evolution Pro Series is designed to showcase the highest level of performance, unifying the men and women of the professional wakeboarding circuit at some of the world’s most elite facilities, in the U.S. and internationally. In order to match the athletes’ credentials, over $250,000 in prize money and athlete incentives will be up for grabs.

“Malibu and the WWA have done a fantastic job with the Evolution Pro Series,” said Malibu Team Rider Massi Piffaretti. “I’m really looking forward to competing at some of the new locations we will be attending in 2016. Each round is going to be unique in its own way and I’m ready for the challenges that they present.”
