Shannon Starling WWA President
Shannon Starling brings over 40 years experience in the industry. As one of the original founders of the World Wake Association (WWA). Starling , a multi-time national and world champion athlete, forged a path from beginner to professional in multiple disciplines in wake. Has also been recognized with two lifetime achievement awards along with induction to the Wakesports Hall of Fame. In addition to growing wakesports Starling has also developed programs in conjunction with NASBLA, the US Coast Guard, boating education, and overall risk management programs for all the above.
Corrie Wilson WWA Executive Director
Corrie Wilson is the first woman in the modern history of wake to become Executive Director of the WWA. With over 16 years of competitive experience, 8 of those professional as a top 5 competitor. Corrie has chief judged over 80 events and been involved in the production of 175 events in her short career. Corrie serves on the board of the Watersports Industry Association as well as the Wakesports Hall of Fame.
Ben Greenwood Director of Strategic Partnerships
Ben Greenwood (aka "Benny G") rode professionally for 11 years, earned "Rider of the Year" in 2005, appeared on Readers Poll top 10's, TV shows, videos, demos, and contests around the globe. Getting his start in instructing, Ben found a passion for helping others progress in the sport that he loves. After his pro riding days Ben went on to work for WAKEBOARDING Magazine as Content Editor. He then moved over to the sales side of the house and was promoted to Publisher. Ben stepped away from watersports and ran partnerships in the corporate world in Middle Market M&A and media focused on SaaS. Now returning to the industry he loves after sharing the experience with his two young sons.
Scotty Broome Director of Global Events and Partnerships
Scotty is a former professional Wakeboarder with over two decades of experience in the wake industry. A Planet X games silver medalist and WWA world champion, he joins the WWA on a full time basis after many years working as an event official and judge, and now as Director of Global Events and Partnerships. He brings a wealth of knowledge from his work outside the Wake industry in Sales and Marketing positions held in top fast-moving consumer goods and technology businesses including Monster Energy, Newell Brands, ServiceNow and Micromine throughout a 10 year corporate career. We look forward to Scotty bringing his track record of success both on and off the water to the WWA in 2025 and beyond.
Michelle Dix Registration and Event Manager
Michelle brings a unique blend of expertise in systems, education, and accounting, with a passion for problem-solving and continuous learning. She has a solid background in streamlining processes and working across multiple disciplines, which makes her a versatile asset to our team. Outside of work, Michelle is a dedicated wife and mother of two college-aged daughters. She values spending time with family and friends. She loves to travel and believes this new position will be healthy work-life balance. Michelle’s diverse background, combined with her warm, approachable nature, will no doubt make her a great fit for our collaborative culture. We’re thrilled to have Michelle on board and look forward to the contributions she’ll bring to the team!
