COVID-19 UPDATE FROM THE WWA

Dear Global Wake Community,

We are closely monitoring the continued spreading of the coronavirus (COVID-19) and will follow the guidelines laid out by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO). We will continue to do our best in this situation to provide timely notifications of events that are impacted.

At this time, we will make best efforts to provide a minimum of a 30-day notice on any event changes* for U.S. domestic events and a minimum of a 45-day notice for international events.

“We are first going to do what’s in the best interest of preventing the virus spread and second, select the safest options for our athletes, organizers, staff, and fans,” commented WWA President Shannon Starling.

The only event that has thus far been affected by the continued spreading of the coronavirus is WPWS Stop #2 the Thailand Wake Park World Series Stop that was originally scheduled for April 18 – 19, 2020.  A new date for this event will be announced in the coming weeks.

We greatly appreciate everyone’s cooperation during this time.

*Event changes may include but are not limited to postponement, rescheduling, and/or cancellation.
