The Team

Texas Wake was established to promote the culture of wakeboarding and facilitate an individual’s ability to participate in the great sport. We are the official wakeboarding team of UT Austin.

The main focus of the team is to bring together wakeboarders, and wakesurfers at UT. This is done by introducing new people to the sport, holding various social events, and by being involved in the local community. Texas Wake hosts events monthly for members and friends.  Some of these events include parties, team dinners, competitions with campouts, and a ski/snowboard trip to Colorado.

The team offers two to four hour boat pulls four days a week on Lake Austin beginning this September. Sign ups are available at every meeting as well as by contacting our boat pull coordinator, Kevin Sulski. Our meetings are every three weeks. Sign ups are first come first serve. Our members have the option of both wakeboarding and wakesurfing during each boat pull. Dues are $250 a semester or $450 a year plus $10 per boat pull to help cover gas. No experience necessary.

At the heart of Texas Wake is the team’s goal of furthering the enjoyment of the sport for all its members, as well as building enduring friendships amongst them.
