Atlanta, Georgia (April 21, 2017)- Action Event Group, LLC announced today that registration for the 2017 Georgia Wake Series is now open at www.gawakeseries.com. The Series is now one month away, opening as a weekender, with a return visit to a private lake in Rome on Saturday, May 20th followed by Terminus Wake Park on Sunday, May 21st. The Georgia Wake Series website has now been updated containing online registration, event information, class breakdowns and more. Given the more balanced 2017 series, we will crown state champions in boat and cable in addition to the coveted overall tour champion for each division. In order to ensure fairness across-the-board, a rider will only be eligible for the overall championship in the highest division in which he or she has participated. For example, a rider competing in Advanced in the boat events, but Intermediate at the cable events, will be eligible for the overall tour championship in the Advanced division. We encourage everyone to ride in the class that suits his or her abilities and challenges his or her riding.
The points scale for 2017 has been revised in order to allow riders to advance classes throughout the year and remain competitive for the championships. Our goal has been and will continue to be providing a fun yet competitive environment that promotes and encourages riders to progress throughout the season. We believe that our revamped scoring system does just that by encouraging riders to advance and challenge themselves while still providing an opportunity in the higher class’s standings.
