Nautique USA National Wakesurf Championships presented by GM Marine Showcases Impressive Competition on Day Two

Winter Haven, FL (July 29, 2021) – Junior wakesurfers hit the water on Day 2 of the 2021 Nautique USA National Wakesurf Championships presented by GM Marine.  Jr. Men and Jr. Women from all across the nation started the competition day seeking to impress the judges with their very best runs that would eventually secure a spot for them in the final rounds of their division. The award-winning Super Air Nautique G23 Paragon powered by GM’s world-class powertrains towed the future-professionals searching for their National titles.

The Junior Men set the pace of the day with Nicholas Pardon from Sammamish, Washinton leading the way in the first heat with huge frontside airs and smooth side-to-side tranfers utilizing the Nautique Surf System.  While Kelly Albin from Discovery Bay, California took the top spot among the Jr. Women with 180 shuv-its and switch and regular reverts as she changed her stance from frontside to backside.

“We had a great second day of competition here at the Nautique USA National Wakesurf Championships presented by GM Marine” said WWA Executive Director Corrie Wilson “it’s always fun to see how the wakesurfers approach the WWA Wakesurf Format and make full use of the G23 Paragon’s wave!”

The main event for Day 2 was the preliminary rounds of the Pro Men and Pro Women as the top surf athletes fought hard for the top 3 in each of the Pro heats.  For the Pro Women, Nautique team athlete Jodi Grassman took a commanding lead with her alley-oop ollie north, shuv-it combinations, and her amazing 540 bigspin.  Among the Pro Men, Sean Silveria bested the rest of the heat with quick maneuvers from both his frontside and backside stance while impressing the judges with switch and regular bigspins from each side of the wave.
