From New Braunfels, TX (June 30, 2014) — Known as an amazing wakeboarding oasis, Texas Ski Ranch has also developed into an activity filled wonderland, setting the stage for a dynamic Rider Experience weekend in New Braunfels, Texas June 27-29.

With sessions behind the Malibu WAKESETTER’s, wake park riding, trampoline gym madness, to dry slope snowboarding, the entertainment ran all day and night. Kicking off the weekend on Thursday night, guests were treated to a big screen premiere of Voyage, by JAO Pro, which will be released this fall.

In usual Rider Experience style, Freeride Friday kicked off the on-water festivities, followed by the WWA Wakeboard Central-Regional Championships on Saturday, with an awesome rock band setting the vibe for dinner and the awards. To round off the weekend, the Wakesurf Experience brought many new riders, shop employees and top pro wakesurfers to throw some buckets behind the WAKESTTER 23 LSV.

Freeride Friday helps contribute to the full experience as a laid back day where riders can practice on the clean wake of the WAKESETTER 22 MXZ and fine-tune their pass for the Regional Championships. In addition, riders can work on new tricks with help from the Malibu pro team. TSR was also the perfect venue to hang out off the water and meet new people from the same region, and a lot of good connections were made at Wahoo’s Fish Tacos, right on site.

The Regional Championships proves to be a top event for all amateurs. The central region brought a very talented group of riders out to earn their seeding to the WWA National Championships, which will be held nearby in Waco, Texas on July 24-28. This was also a first-time contest experience for a few eager groms.

As the contest kicked off on Saturday morning, the Texas wind proved that it was not letting up, however, the riders didn’t let that phase them and laid down clean passes. In the Junior Pro division, Cory Teunissen (AUS) and Parker Siegele (AUS) have been battling it out all season. Teunissen took his second win, bringing the points race to an even tie going into next weekend’s finale In Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin.

For the WWA and Malibu staff, the most rewarding part is to see new people become hooked on the sport. This event provided the opportunity for a handful of new waterdogs to get up for the first time and let the rope go on the man-made swell of the WAKESETTER 24 MXZ. SURF GATE Sunday isn’t just for newbies though. Axis pro team rider, Johnny Steig along with amateur ripper, Parker Payne, rode doubles on the same wave, pulling off simultaneous 360’s and other impressive maneuvers.

With all that went down in so many different areas, the experience reached a new level at TSR. With one more Rider Experience remaining in 2014, you are welcome to join us in Wisconsin for an unforgettable finale. Register here!
