THE NAUTIQUE MOOMBA MASTERS TO KICK OFF THE 2019 WWA WAKEBOARD WORLD SERIES AND NAUTIQUE WAKE SERIES NEXT WEEK!

(March 1, 2019) –The 2019 WWA Wakeboard World Series (WBWS) and Nautique Wake Series season officially kicks off next week at the Nautique Moomba Masters in Melbourne, Australia. The 2018 season showed us that the talent pool in wake is the most progressive and committed yet to be seen. Plus, the offseason footage that has been flooding our social media feeds has been unreal. With crowd favorites returning after a season of being out for injury, new up and comers making their pro debuts, and the hype that’s been building this offseason – 2019 is setting up to be a year of epic proportion.

The last time we saw our athletes hit the water was in Miyoshi City, Japan for the Nautique WWA Wakeboard World Championships where Harley Clifford (AUS) and Meagan Ethell (USA) proved themselves with two all-time performances claiming consecutive World titles and WWA Wakeboard World Series titles. Nautique’s newest signed athlete, Cory Teunissen (AUS) went head to head with Clifford multiple times on the 2018 WBWS leaderboard, coming out on top at Moomba’s Rockstar Best Trick Contest last year with a massive T/S 1080 put down on the Yarra River.

Proving to be unstoppable and unbeatable in the Jr. Pro scene, Luca Kidd (GBR) will be making his debut on the WBWS for 2019. The first female to land a double behind the boat, Eugenia de Armas (ARG) will be one of our Pro Women to watch this year alongside Bec Gange (AUS) who came in second just behind Ethell at the 2018 Nautique WWA Wakeboard World Championships. The heat is on for the first stop of the WBWS as riders from around the globe prepare to steal the show in front of over 400,000 screaming fans of Melbourne, Australia.

The world’s top wake athletes have been working hard to develop their winning formula and are set to deliver new tricks, paired with the unimaginable performances we look forward to seeing on the Yarra River every year.  Watch the first runs of the 2019 WBWS season streaming LIVE starting Wednesday, March 6th!
