NATION’S TOP AMATEURS THROW DOWN ON DAY ONE OF THE 2019 NAUTIQUE WWA WAKEBOARD NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS PRESENTED BY ROCKSTAR ENERGY

Monroe, WA (July 25, 2019) – The industry-leading Super Air Nautique G23 greeted top amateurs from across the U.S. with perfect wakes to begin the 2019 Nautique WWA Wakeboard National Championships presented by Rockstar Energy. Standouts in each of the fifteen divisions advanced through challenging semifinal rounds of competition, with each competitor eager for a spot in the finals as any hopes of snagging a National title comes down to this. The 2019 Nautique WWA Wakeboard National Championships is the third stop of the Nautique Wake Series; the only series that puts riders first.

“With the G23 providing the perfect wakes for the amateur riders, the first day of Nautique WWA Wakeboard Nationals is always electric,” said Nautique President Greg Meloon. “The young riders performed incredible today, and the venue and conditions have set the perfect stage in Washington. We’re looking forward to a great weekend of competition and to witness athletes from all over capture National titles!”

The 2019 Nationals kicked off with event veterans taking to the water displaying their big styles and amplitudes for the crowds of Lake Tye Park. The Masters Women semifinals saw Jenny Linn (GA) take the win with a variety of airs and grabs for 64.33 points, ahead of Kimberly Wysocki (MI) in second with a final score of 44.00. 

The Jr. Boys division saw Kane Ward (AL) pull off an incredible opening run landing a tantrum and T/S backroll for a top score of 87.33.  Letting it be known that hard work pays off Hudson Gentry (AL) took second throwing down a massive H/S backroll for a final score of 70.00, just ahead of Hudson Haynie (AZ) in third with 63.33, followed by Ike Phillips (GA) in fourth with 53.33. 

The Jr. Women division saw Hollie Waldrop (FL) put down a Tootsie Roll and a H/S backroll earning the heat winning score of 82.33. Keeping the competition fierce, Kira Lewis (FL) proved to be equally impressive, proving the ladies are on a fast road of progression with a variety of technical grabs and inverts finishing first in the Girls division with a final score of 80.67. Joining Lewis in Thursday’s final, Madison Lavrack (NC) finished in second with 76.00, ahead of Jordan Wolfe (NC) in third with a score of 61.33, and Alexie Patrick (TX) in fourth with 50.00. 

All eyes were on the water as the Boys displayed what they’ve been working on all summer behind the award-winning Super Air Nautique G23. Alex Albin (CA) put himself on the map with a H/S F/S 720 and a moby dick for a heat winning score of 95.67. Following closely behind him, Beaux Wildman (IN) scored 76.33 in second followed by Carson McDaniel (OH) in third with 64.33 and Ryder Dillon (IN) in fourth with 43.00 heading through to Thursday’s final round. 

The legendary Super Air Nautique G23 showcased its versatility, increasing the wake’s shape and size for the Jr. Men Semifinals as the boys brought the heat to Washington with relentless energy in the semifinal rounds. Barrett Swope (TX) took the win in heat one throwing a nuclear T/S B/S 180 for a winning score of 82.33, ahead of Ashton Coker (FL) with 70.00. Jimmy Schmidt (IL)  had a solid ride in heat two hitting a stylish stalefish backroll for a final score of 85.67, followed by Dylan Sexton (LA) in second with a score of 80.00 points.

The Men’s 2 division took to the water as one of the final heats of an incredible first day with Chase Shaw (NV) looking quite stylish behind the Super Air Nautique G23 taking the win with a moby dick for a score of 83.00. Coming away with a second place finish, Adam Fields (NC) threw a huge hoochie glide for a score of 78.33, ahead of Jack Cerenzia (WA) in third with 65.00 and Shea Doerfler (ID) in fourth with 57.67.

Day two of the 2019 Nautique WWA Wakeboard National Championships presented by Rockstar Energy begins at 8:30 a.m. PT on Thursday, July 25th featuring fifteen Amateur division final rounds, four Amateur division semifinal founds, and the Jr. Pro Quarterfinals.
